Method Statements

What is a Method Statement?

Conducting and Completing Method Statements is our bread and butter across the Tyne, Wear & Tees! It is a legal requirement under the Health & Safety at work Act 1974 to provide safe working procedures, you must ensure the recording of safe working methods.

A Method Statement is a highly detailed site specific document which by the general rule of thumb agreed between the Client and Principal Contractor that details the way in work tasks are to be carried out, it should clearly identify the hazards associated with the task including a detailed description on how the work can be carried out in a safe environment.

Within the Method Statement this will also include Control Measures that have been created and implemented to ensure the safety and wellbeing by all parties involved with the work.

Method Statements MUST be conducted and completed by a competent person who has experience and is familiar with the work being completed, Three Rivers Health & Safety Consultancy Ltd are your local health and safety advisors who are well experienced to assist your task.
